Come! (imperative - command)
The story’s application
Consider what the boat represents
The church
Safety
Familiarity
Consider what the storm, the wind and waves represent.
Chaos of the world, life, etc.
What keeps you from obeying can be hearing Jesus’ command as an option
Comfort Zone
He sits alone absorbed in his sofa
His face a sickly glow from the TV screen
His mind getting soft, his will nearly broken
His whites turning red and his irises green
Refrain
But the call it comes again
He appears from the mist and says
“Come, take a walk on the water!”
Take a leap of faith surrender control
Jesus is callin’ all his Sons and his daughters
Take that step out of the boat
Step out of your comfort zone
He’d always hoped he’d find his life purpose
Then he chickened out when his chance came around
Opportunities fade into the haze of comfort
When the Lord says jump, he keeps his feet on the ground
Refrain
